Feeding recommendation

Supplementary feed for laying hens

Feed in a ratio of 2:1 with Körner extra, Körner Deluxe or grain two weeks before and during the laying period. Towards the end of the laying period (shortly before moulting), and generally for older laying hens, supplementary feeding of oyster shells in a separate feeder may be advisable.

Ideally, laying mash / laying grain is fed in the morning before the hens go out, and grain feed in the evening. The daily requirement of a modern laying hen (hybrid with a body weight of approx. 1.5 kg) is approx. 120 grams per animal per day. This means 80 g laying mash/laying grain plus 40 g grain feed per animal per day.

Always ensure fresh drinking water is available.
