Floragard coarse pine bark, 25 to 40 mm, is a natural ground cover in coarse grading. Its particularly attractive shape and colouring make it very appealing and offer creative design options for the sustainable care and beautification of the garden. It naturally suppresses weed growth and protects against silting, drying out and erosion. It is also particularly suitable for decoratively covering tubs and other planting containers. In winter and autumn, the sensitive plant roots are protected from frost and cold. The natural coarse pine bark is also suitable for use in a terrarium.

Gardener's tips on coarse pine bark:

Application: First, carefully clear planting areas and beds of root and seed weeds and loosen the soil evenly. Apply a 5–7 cm thick layer of coarse Floragard pine bark to the weed-free bed. For covering the ground on garden and park paths, the layer of extra-coarse pine bark should be 10−15 cm thick. For shallow-rooted plants, e.g. rhododendrons, the plants should be given a single application of nitrogen fertiliser before covering. After 2−3 years, top up the mulch layer with 3−5 cm of Floragard pine bark. Due to the natural decomposition process of the bark, fungi may settle on the bark, especially in damp weather. These fungi are completely harmless to plants and do not represent any reduction in quality. This also applies to the intense bark smell that occurs in rare cases.
