The best helper for your hydroponics – that is Floragard clay granules. The clay pellets, expanded and fired without chemical additives, are ideal for houseplants. Floragard clay granules store moisture and nutrients and thus offer the best conditions for healthy plant growth and strong flowering. The good air circulation in the hydroponic substrate ensures positive root development above the water level. Likewise, the development of mould and infestation by fungus gnats are prevented.
Use as a drainage layer:
Depending on the size of the container, fill the planter with a 3-6 cm layer of Floragard clay granules and, if possible, cover with fleece to prevent mixing with the potting compost. Then top up with Floragard potting compost or, depending on the plant species, another Floragard specialist compost. Insert the plant and press down gently. Finally, water sufficiently.
Use for hydroponics:
Soak the Floragard clay granules in water for 10 minutes, then fill 25% of the planter with them. Carefully distribute the pellets around the roots of the plant suited to hydroculture and add water until the water level indicator shows “Optimum”. Do not water again for the following 2-3 days. Please use only fertilisers suitable for hydroculture.
